This page explains who owns what, what you may do with our materials, and how to tell us about content you believe infringes your rights.
1. Ownership of our materials
- 1.1Slides, notes, videos, questions, workbooks, quizzes, website text, design, logos and software on this site are owned by Core Knowledge Training and Consultancy (Pty) Ltd or used under licence, and are protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978 and similar laws.
- 1.2"CoreKnowledge" and our logo identify our services. You may not use them without our written consent.
2. Your licence
- 2.1When you enrol we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the course materials for your own study, for the access period.
- 2.2You may not: copy or reproduce them beyond a personal printed copy for study; share them, or your login, with anyone else; resell, rent or distribute them; upload them to any website, file-sharing service, group chat or AI training set; or remove copyright notices.
3. Third-party trademarks
- 3.1ACCA®, CIMA® and IFRS® and related names are registered trademarks of their owners (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the IFRS Foundation). We use them only to describe what our courses prepare you for.
- 3.1aBICA and the BCom in Chartered Accountancy belong to the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants. We name them as plain text only, to identify the qualification our practice material supports. We do not use the BICA logo or colours.
- 3.2CoreKnowledge is not affiliated with or endorsed by ACCA, CIMA, BICA or the IFRS Foundation. Syllabuses, learning outcomes and standards are published by those bodies; we map our own original teaching content to them.
4. How we use past-paper formats
- 4.1We study the structure, style and level of published past papers and examiner reports so that our practice questions feel like exam-style practice. Our questions are written in our own words, with our own scenarios and figures. We do not copy exam-body questions, answers or marking schemes.
- 4.2Where we quote a short extract (for example a sentence from an examiner's report or a standard) we do so for criticism, review or teaching, as fair dealing permits under section 12 of the Copyright Act, and we acknowledge the source.
5. Reporting infringing content: take-down notice (ECT Act, s77)
- 5.1If you believe content on our site infringes your rights, send a written notice to coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com with the subject line "Take-down notice". Under section 77 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act it must include: (a) your full name and address, and the capacity in which you act; (b) the right you say is infringed; (c) a description and the location (page address) of the material; (d) the facts or grounds for your claim; (e) a statement, in good faith, that the information is accurate; and (f) your signature or electronic signature and the date.
- 5.2On receiving a complete notice we will acknowledge it within two (2) working days, may remove or disable access to the material while we assess it, and will tell you the outcome.
- 5.3A person who knowingly gives a false notice may be liable for damages under section 77 of the Act.
6. Counter-notice
- 6.1If we remove material and you believe it was removed by mistake or that you are entitled to publish it, email coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com with the subject "Counter-notice", identifying the material, explaining why it is lawful, and giving your name, address and signature. We will consider it and may restore the material if the complaint is not substantiated.
- 6.2Nothing in this clause limits any right either party has to go to court.
