Practice Assessments: What We Are and Are Not
CoreKnowledge provides digital practice assessments and learning resources. We are not an examination body and our assessments are not official professional exams. This page explains it simply, so nobody is confused.
In one sentence
CoreKnowledge provides digital practice assessments and learning resources to help you prepare for professional examinations. We are not an examination body, and our assessments are not official exams.
1. What we do
- 1.1Our objective is to help you prepare. We provide digital learning resources (course materials, revision kits) and computer-based practice assessments so you can practise the way the real exam is delivered.
- 1.2Every assessment we offer is a practice assessment, and it is labelled as one.
2. What we are not
- 2.1We are not an examination body, awarding body, examination centre or exam registrar. We do not set, mark, administer or certify official professional examinations.
- 2.2Unless we state otherwise in writing on the relevant course page, we are not accredited, approved or endorsed by ACCA, CIMA, the IFRS Foundation or any other awarding body.
- 2.3Our assessments are not official papers, past papers or live exam questions. They are our own original questions written to help you get ready.
3. The kinds of practice assessment
| Type (as shown on the cover) | What it is | Timed |
|---|---|---|
| Practice quiz | Short knowledge check after a topic, instant feedback | No |
| Practice test | Exam-format drill on one syllabus area | Optional |
| Revision practice | Mixed questions to revise across topics | Optional |
| Practice mock exam | Full computer-based practice in the format and timing of the real exam | Yes |
4. Your scores and your exam
- 4.1A score on a practice assessment is a learning tool. It does not predict, and we do not guarantee, how you will perform in the official exam. Content, difficulty and standards in the official exam are set only by the awarding body.
- 4.2Always follow the awarding body's current syllabus, regulations and booking process. Registration for official exams, exam fees, exam rules and official results are always dealt with by the awarding body, not by us.
5. Our certificates
- 5.1A CoreKnowledge certificate confirms that you completed a CoreKnowledge course or practice programme. It is not an awarding-body qualification and it does not give exemptions or credit unless an awarding body confirms this in writing.
6. Names and trademarks
- 6.1ACCA, CIMA, IFRS and other names belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the examinations you are preparing for. See Copyright and Trademarks and the Disclaimer.
7. Working with tuition providers and awarding bodies
- 7.1We welcome collaboration with tuition providers and awarding bodies to facilitate practice assessments and to prepare students, especially for computer-based assessments. If you would like to work with us, contact George Mureithi, FCCA, FCPA, MBA, BSc (Hons), at coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com.
- 7.2Any collaboration will be stated clearly on the relevant page. We will never imply an endorsement that has not been given.
8. How you can tell
- 8.1Every page of our website shows a Practice ribbon at the top and a notice at the bottom. Every assessment cover is labelled with its type and says it is a practice assessment. Every result email repeats it.
- 8.2Our assessments are delivered under the Assessment Regulations, and CoreKnowledge is provided by Core Knowledge Training and Consultancy, BQA accreditation No. 0019.
