Assessment Regulations
The rules for every CoreKnowledge computer-based assessment: who they apply to, what we expect of you, what you can expect of us, and how problems are handled. Written in plain English so you know exactly where you stand before you start.
The rules in one minute
- Sit the assessment yourself, alone, with only what the instructions allow.
- Never copy, photograph, record or share questions or answers.
- Your login is personal. Your candidate ID is shown on every page.
- The clock runs from when you press start. Answers autosave and the paper submits itself at zero.
- If something goes wrong technically, tell us within 24 hours. We will put it right if the fault is ours.
- If you need support (for example extra time), ask before you sit. We keep it confidential.
- We treat you fairly: we decide on evidence, you can respond, and you can appeal.
1. Scope and status
- 1.1These Regulations apply to every computer-based assessment on the CoreKnowledge platform: practice quizzes, timed mock exams and invigilated assessments. They sit under our Terms of Use and Sale and work together with the Acceptable Use Policy and the Assessment and Academic Integrity Standard.
- 1.2Each assessment states its assurance level on its start page: Practice (unsupervised, for learning), Mock exam (unsupervised, timed, exam conditions expected) or Invigilated (identity checked and supervised, in a venue or remotely). The stricter the level, the stricter the controls. See Assessment Security and Integrity Standards.
- 1.3These Regulations are versioned. The version number is shown above and is recorded each time you accept them. If we make a material change we will update this page, show the new version number and ask you to accept it again at your next assessment. A change never applies to an attempt already in progress.
- 1.4These assessments are provided by Core Knowledge Training and Consultancy, BQA accreditation No. 0019. The Assessment Officer is George Mureithi, FCCA, FCPA, MBA, BSc (Hons). Support: coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com.
- 1.5These are practice assessments. CoreKnowledge is not an examination body. Our assessments help you prepare for official examinations; they are not those examinations. See Practice Assessments: What We Are and Are Not.
- 1.6ACCA, CIMA and other exam bodies run their own official exams under their own rules. Our assessments prepare you for those exams; they are not those exams, and passing one with us does not entitle you to anything from an exam body.
2. Your account and identity
- 2.1One person, one account. Log in only with your own credentials. Never share your username, password or sign-in link.
- 2.2Your candidate ID and name are shown faintly across every page of the assessment. This helps protect you and the assessment if content is ever leaked.
- 2.3For invigilated assessments you must show valid, original, government-issued photo ID that matches your registered name. Photocopies, screenshots and expired documents are not accepted. We may refuse entry if identity cannot be confirmed.
- 2.4After five failed login attempts your account is locked for 30 minutes. This protects your account. Use "Forgot your password" or contact support.
3. Before you start
- 3.1Read the start page. It tells you the time limit, number of questions, marks, pass mark, attempts allowed and any special rules (for example a permitted calculator).
- 3.2Check your device, browser and connection before you begin. Use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with cookies and JavaScript on. Keep your device charged or plugged in.
- 3.3The clock starts when you press start and does not pause. Plan to sit the whole assessment in one go in a quiet place.
4. During the assessment
- 4.1Work alone. Do not get help from anyone, in person or online, and do not let anyone else see your screen or help you answer.
- 4.2Use only what the start page allows. Notes, books, extra devices, messaging apps, search engines, translation tools and artificial-intelligence assistants are not allowed unless the instructions expressly permit them.
- 4.3Do not copy, photograph, screenshot, record, transcribe or share any question, answer option, scenario or feedback, during or after the assessment.
- 4.4Do not open the assessment in more than one window or on more than one device, and do not try to bypass, test or interfere with the platform, the timer or the marking.
- 4.5Behave professionally. Do not give false information to us or to anyone supporting you.
5. Time, saving and submitting
- 5.1Your answers save automatically about every minute and whenever you move between questions. Pressing Submit all and finish is final.
- 5.2When the time limit ends, the platform submits the answers you have saved. We do not extend time except for an approved reasonable adjustment or a verified platform fault (see Technical Problems and Disruption).
- 5.3A review screen shows unanswered and flagged questions before you submit. You are responsible for checking it.
6. Confidential content
- 6.1All questions, scenarios, answer options, feedback and marking keys belong to CoreKnowledge. They are confidential. See Copyright and Trademarks.
- 6.2If you see exam content that was not given to you through the platform, or you learn that content has been shared, please tell us. Reporting in good faith is welcome and is handled confidentially.
7. Support, adjustments and problems
- 7.1If you need adjustments because of a disability, learning difficulty or medical condition, apply before you sit. See Reasonable Adjustments and Additional Support.
- 7.2If something goes wrong technically, note the time, take a photo or screenshot of any error and contact us within 24 hours. See Technical Problems and Disruption.
- 7.3Contact support at coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com or WhatsApp +267 76066483. Never send your password.
8. Misconduct
- 8.1Breaking these Regulations may be treated as assessment misconduct. We do not presume guilt. We decide on evidence, we tell you what we found and you have the right to respond.
- 8.2Assessors and invigilators may stop an assessment, or hold an attempt as under review, where they reasonably suspect a serious breach, so that the assessment and other candidates are protected.
- 8.3The process, possible outcomes and your right to appeal are set out in Assessment Misconduct, Investigations and Appeals.
9. Results
- 9.1How results, feedback, retakes and result queries work is set out in Results, Feedback, Retakes and Appeals.
- 9.2Your results are private to you. See Assessment Data and Confidentiality Notice.
10. Your rights and our commitments
- 10.1You have the right to clear instructions before you start, to fair and equal treatment, to reasonable adjustments, to privacy, to be heard before any adverse decision, and to appeal.
- 10.2We commit to keeping the assessment platform secure, to marking accurately, to publishing the pass mark for every assessment, to correcting and re-marking where we find an error in a question, and to responding to queries within the times stated in our policies.
- 10.3These Regulations are governed by the laws that govern our Terms. Nothing here limits your rights under data protection or consumer law.
